FAQs

Can I get my speeds any higher than what I have now?

Yes, there are two options you can try.

You can try and move your device around your house to see where the best cell signal is.

If the above did not work, then you may have to try a band lock:

  1. First, you will need to connect to the MOFI and login to the settings.
  2. When you are connected to the MOFI go into a non-chrome browser and type 192.168.10.1 in the address bar. (A non-chrome browser is Firefox, internet explorer, or safari).
  3. Once there it will auto-fill the username and you need to enter the password of “admin”.
  4. Once there you will need to go to the section “Mofi Internal Modem” as shown in image below:
  5. If you already know what band to lock onto you can skip to step 10, otherwise continue to next step below.
  6. Once you click under Mofi internal Modem go back to the left-hand side menu and select band scanner.
  7. Once there select Start SCAN. This will take a minute and you might lose internet during the process.
  8. After the scan is done you will get a bunch of numbers that look something like the picture below:
  9. You want to look at the number before MHz. The higher that number is the faster the speeds. If it says No Lock/Not Available you do not have that band in your area. Usually, band 2 is the fastest band you can get if it’s not available I would suggest just setting your band lock to auto.
  10. Once you decided which band is best for you, on the left-hand side menu select BandLock.
  11. In the center, in the drop-down menu select the band the will work best for you.
  12. After you select the band you want on the right-hand side select next.
  13. After that select finish. This will restart your router. We suggest logging back into the MOFI just to make sure the settings changed properly.
  14. If your speeds still aren’t the best try a different band to see if you can get any better speeds.

Can I link my router into my MOFI?

Yes, you will have to turn your MOFI into bridge mode.

  4. On the left-hand side, menu select the “Wifi” section and make your settings look like the picture below: (click on image to enlarge)

Do you recommend any external antenna’s that we can use with the MOFI?

Yes, we recommend that you go with a YAGI.  They are relatively inexpensive and help to boost your speeds.

Can I take this on the road with me?

Absolutely, as long as you have AT&T cell service and a power source you can connect to the internet anywhere you go.

Do you offer any other provider?

Currently, the only provider we work with is AT&T, but we are always looking to expand.
